Boot Camp

I knew we were flying into Orlando in a few months and did not know how I would make it through. One day I got a phone call and it was my husband, I was shocked because we are not supposed to hear from him during boot camp. He got a job in the laundry center and there was a phone where he was working. We talked for a half-hour every day; this was a great gift to help me get through these ninety days much faster. I didn't like to hear about what he was going through during boot camp with them getting yelled at and have to do push-ups, but I new that he was fine. Before long it was the day to leave for his graduating ceremony.
I was shocked when I saw that he had no hair, but I still give him a big hug and kiss. The rules where to wait in a room until they let the sailors come out to see us. By now none of the rules bothered me because all I cared about was seeing him. After the ceremony, my husband was free to stay with us for a couple of days.
This leads me back to the day at Sea World, a chance to just have fun and be with him again after being apart for so long. I did not realize until the National Anthem started to play, that our life has changed and it will be different than anything I have every known. As the tears came down my face, I knew that I was with the man I loved but I had no indication about what road was ahead of us.
We had to say our good-byes again, but this time he would be home in a few weeks.
